Kotsar Cave was initially named Gopansar Cave (Gopan = hide), but the current name Kotsar became more popular as the cave is located near the village called ‘Kotsar’. Kotsar Cave is located near Jagdalpur in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. Kotamsar Cave is a major attraction for people interested in eco-tourism. It is a limestone cave formed on the Kanger Limestone Belt, situated on the banks of the Kager River, a tributary of the Koleb River. The entry coordinates are 18052’09 “N 81056’05” E (WGS84) and it is situated at an altitude of 560 meters above sea level. A vertical fissure in a mountain wall serves as the main entrance to the cave, and from there a concrete passage has been made to the end of the cave for the convenience of tourists. The main tunnel of the cave is about 200 meters long with many lateral and down routes. A variety of sleethothems offer panoramic views. Air and water temperature respectively Is relatively stable (range = 25.0–32.7_C for wind = 22.9–29.3 ° C for water) with an annual average of 28.25 ± 1.23 and 26.33 ± 0.96 ° C.
