Mehndri Ghumar is a beautiful seasonal waterfall on the way to gigantic Chitrakote Waterfalls. Famously known as the ‘Valley of Fog’, Mehndri Ghumar has a scenic valley ahead. It marks its presence silently amidst the green valley, falling from 125-150 feet plunge. One can feel the calmness while looking at the dense forest area from the top. The scenic beauty and drizzle at Mehndri Ghumar make it an alluring experience to visit. Chitradhara, Tamda Ghumar, and Mehndri Ghumar make the circuit to the Chitrakote waterfalls even more pleasant and blissful.
अद्भुत है छत्तीसगढ़ का मेंदरी घूमर जल प्रपात…करीब 90 फीट की ऊंचाई से गिरता है पानी
छत्तीसगढ़ के बस्तर में स्थित मेंदरी घूमर जल प्रपात अपने आप में अद्भुत है। वैसे अकेले बस्तर में एक से डेढ़ दर्जन जलप्रपात हैं, जो अपनी अलग-अलग खूबियों को लेकर प्रसिद्ध हैं। इसमें भी कई ऐसे जलप्रपात हैं, जिन्हें पर्यटक नजदीक से देखना चाहते हैं, पर उनके बारे में जानकारियां नहीं मिलने से वे उस तक पहुंच नहीं पाते हैं।
जैसा कि आप जानते हैं कि छत्तीसगढ़ के बस्तर में देश का सबसे चौड़ा चित्रकोट जलप्रपात और सबसे ऊंचा तीरथगढ़ जलप्रपात है। ये दोनों अपनी खूबसूरती और बरसात के समय अविस्मरणीय दृश्य के लिए जाने जाते हैं। वैसे सालभर यहां पर्यटकों का आना-जाना लगा रहता है, लेकिन बारिश के दिनों में इनका उफान अपने पूरे शबाब पर रहता है, इसलिए लोग यहां बड़ी संख्या में आते हैं। इनके साथ ही बस्तर में कई ऐसे जलप्रपात हैं, जिन्हें लोग जानते तो हैं पर ज्यादा जानकारी नहीं मिल पाने के कारण में वहां तक नहीं पहुंच पाते हैं। ऐसा ही जल प्रपात है बस्तर का मेंदरी घूमर जल प्रपात।
मेंदरी घूमर जल प्रपात
मेंदरी घूमर जल प्रपात प्राकृतिक खूबसूरती समेटे हुए है। कहा जाता है कि यहां 90 फीट की ऊंचाई से पानी गिरता है। जो देखने में अद्भुत है।
कहां है (Mehndri Ghumar Waterfall)
मेंदरी घूमर जल प्रपात छत्तीसगढ़ की राजधानी रायपुर से लगभग 350 और जगदलपुर से 60 किलोमीटर दूरी पर स्थित है। यह चित्रकोट और बारसूर मार्ग के बीच में स्थित है। यहां मटनार नदी का पानी ऊंचाई से गिरता है, जो जलप्रपात का निर्माण करता है। इसके नजदीक ही तामड़ा घूमर नामका एक और जलप्रपात स्थित है।
ऐसे पहुंचे
यदि आप घूमने-फिरने के इच्छुक हैं तो यहां जरूर आ सकते हैं। राजधानी रायपुर से आप सीधे सड़क मार्ग से आ सकते हैं। वहीं यदि आप जगदलपुर से जाना चाहें तो यहां निजी टैक्सी की सुविधाएं भी मिल सकती है।

How to Reach:
By Air
Bastar has its own Airport which is operated by State Government under UDAN Scheme. At present, the AIRODISHA has operating flights from Jagdalpur to Raipur and Jagdalpur to Vishakapatnam. The nearest airport accessible is in Raipur, approximately 300 km away from Bastar. Many Airplane operators operate regular flights from here connecting it to all the major cities. Prepaid taxis are easily available from the Raipur Airport to Jagdalpur.
By Train
Jagdalpur a district headquarter of Bastar district is well connected to the Vishakapatnam and Raipur by railways. Jagdalpur railway station is operated by East Coast Railway. This Railway line is the primary source of iron ore transport from NMDC bacheli to Vishapakatnam. At present Vishakapatnam -Kirandul Passenger (58501), Durg -Jagdalpur Express (18211), Howrah-Koraput Express (18005), Hirakhand Express (18448), and Vishakapatnam-Jagdalpur(Night Express) are operational from Jagdalpur.
By Road
Regular bus services, whether express or sleeper-based, ply to and fro the city of Jagdalpur (Bastar). They operate on a daily basis, through a well-connected network of national highways such as NH 30. The other state bus transporters also operate such as TSRTC (Jagdalpur-Hyderabad), APRTC(Jagdalpur -Vishakapatnam, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry), OSRTC, etc.
