Narayanpal Mandir Narayanpal Temple is well known for its cultural, historical and spiritual value in the heritage of Bastar. On the northwestern side of Jagdalpur, a village named Narayanapala, situated on the other bank of the Indravati River, is connected to the Chitrakote Falls. The village has an ancient magnificent Vishnu temple built over 1000 years ago and is a beautiful figure of architecture.The Vishnu temple is established near the confluence of the Indravati and orange rivers and dates back to the 11th century. Nearby Vishnu temple, a small village was named as Narayanpur after the establishment of the temple, meanwhile, it came to be known as Narayanapala.

A contemporary of the Khajuraho temple in India, the Narayanpal temple is the only temple in the entire Bastar district to contain an idol of Lord Vishnu. Built by the queen Mumundadevi of the Chindak dynasty, the Narayanpal temple is influenced by the Chalukya style of architecture.
