जिले के नागरिकों को मनोरंजन या पर्यटन के लिए अन्य जिलों या पड़ोसी राज्यों के पर्यटन स्थलों पर निर्भर रहे हैं। जिला प्रशासन ने वन विभाग के साथ मिलकर नगर के समीप स्थित तुंगल बांध जो सिंचाई के लिए उपयोग में लाया जाता था। इस बांध को ईको पर्यटन केन्द्र के रूप में विकसित किया गया।जिला मुख्यालय सुकमा से लगभग 3 किमी दूर स्थित है । इस ईको पर्यटन केन्द्र में जिला प्रशासन व वन विभाग के द्वारा आधार मूलभूत संरचना का निर्माण, बांध में नौका विहार के लिए मोटर बोट, पायडल बोट की व्यवस्था, पहुंच मार्ग का निर्माण तथा हट स्थल का निर्माण किया गया। 2 अक्टूबर 2015 को प्रदेश के वनमंत्री के द्वारा तुगंल बांध ईको पर्यटन केन्द्र का उद्घाटन किया गया। इस ईको पर्यटन केन्द्र में विभिन्न गतिविधियों- मोटर संचालन, नाका का संचालन, ईमू पक्षियों की देख-रेख आदि के लिए नजदीकी गांव तुगंल के युवाओं को प्रेरित किया गया। जिसमें 21 युवाओं ने सहमति दी, वन विभाग द्वारा स्व-सहायता समूह मुरतोण्डा वन परिक्षेत्र सुकमा के नाम पर समूह का पंजीयन किया ।

On October 2, 2015, the inauguration of Tugan Dam Eco-Tourism Center was inaugurated by the Forest Minister of the state. Various activities in this eco-tourism center were motivated to motivate the youth of the nearby village Tugal for the operation of motor operators, Naka operations, maintenance of emu birds, etc. In which 21 young people agreed, the Forest Department registered the group under the self-help group Mutantonda Forest Range Sukma.
