Siddheshwar Temple This Shiva temple is situated on the embankment of Balasamund Talab in Palari village, 25 km away from Balodabazar to Raipur road in Balodabazar district of Chhattisgarh state. This temple was built in about 7-8th century AD. This brick-built temple is western-facing. The river goddesses Ganga and Yamuna are displayed in Tribhangamudra on the door branch of the temple.There is a marking of the trinity on the head of the gate. The scene of Shiva marriage is beautifully carved on the head gate located at the entrance and there is a marking of Ashta Dipalas on the gate branch. The Shiva lingam named Siddeshwara is enshrined in the sanctum sanctorum. The peak of this temple is embellished with the figures of Kirtimukh, Gajmukh and Vayal which are built within the Chaitya Gavaksha. This is a fine example of existing brick-built temples of Chhattisgarh. This monument is protected by the State of Chhattisgarh.
